Freelance Designer & Creative

Born and raised in Cambridgeshire and recently settling in the North Yorkshire countryside, I am a graduate of The university of Edinburgh with a degree in Performance Costume and an affinity with anything creative.

My four year degree gifted me talents in designing, making, costing, set design and computer aided design. My expertise were honed throughout and I found an affinity with making and construction particularly of historical garments and also my skill at graphic and computer aided design.

I worked as an intern on two Joanna Hogg films in the costume department, The Souvenir: Part 1 in 2016 and came back for part 2 of The Souvenir in 2019. After some changes in my personal life I moved to the countryside and started work at the National Trust whilst also selling my work as a self employed freelance artist. This has lead me to blend the two approaches and design extremely successful pin badges for my National Trust property and be commissioned for costuming within the trusts exhibitions.

After growing up in the countryside I am very ardent about sustainable materials and using nature in my work. Just one of my popular commissions are historically inspired corsets made from second hand, offcuts and recycled materials.

I have had pieces of my work exhibited at shows in the years of 2015 and 2016 at Burghley Horse trials, The Knit and Stitch show at Alexandra Palace and Olympia in London. I most recently exhibited my work at the Knaresborough Art Festival.

Iā€™m currently available for commissions so feel free to email me.
